Hoping someone here might have an 8 foot 180. I'd like to know how you like it, if you would have done anything different, etc.

The dimensions appear to be 96x24x18 tall.

I think you'll find that a pretty uncommon size. If I were to build an 8 foot long tank, I would want it to be at least 24" tall....(better yet 26" to 28"H)

In order to stay 180 gallons, the tank would be getting strangely narrow.

If you hit 8 feet wide, you're probably going to want something larger than 180gallons.

I'm trying to downsize the water changes, top offs, etc, but still keep an 8' tank.

I was considering a 96x30x24, and everybody raved over those dimensions. It'd be the same shape, just downsized.

Yes...I get your train of thought there. I do suspect that you won't find many other people who have created a tank of those dimensions though.

If you have lower ceiling height, you might really benefit from the shorter height....and you'll get great light penetration to the bottom of the tank.

Yes..but how about 96L x 30H x 48W??? Now, you've got something to rave about, eh? Hey, this is the large tank forum..right?
