Anybody interested in a Coldwater GB?

I remember 1-2 people on here wanting to make a coldwater tank, I'm thinking of ordering some coldwater livestock in about 3 weeks. Was seeing if anybody is interested in getting anything from Coldwatermarineaquatics with me.

:wavehand:

(Un)fortunately, my coldwater tank is still being tested by Mike at Micro-Reefs. It is undergoing some design changes to try and hold temperature stable. I probably wont be ready for this CWMA groupbuy, but I'd be happy to get in on your next one. I've already talked to Josh/Stu about what I want: chitons, a pygmy filefish, and anemones!

Goodluck! Perhaps you can jump in the order and get some livesand or something to kick start your tank if you get it up and running by then

I still want to do a pico, but I haven't gone anywhere on it in a couple of weeks. I got the chiller and the sicce return pump. I got a couple of quotes on fabrication and also got a couple of quotes on buying materials to just make it myself, now need to decide which to do and just do it...

how big of a tank are you planning?

I was thinking of just doing like a 3 gallon pico, that's all the little Peltier chiller that I got could handle I think. But also thinking of a 10ish gallon.

Just let me know guys :) I'm propagating all the European stuff as we speak. Already split the Snakelocks anemones and fragged some 2-3 polyp starters of the Corynactis Viridis.

bump! Anyone started a Coldwater set up?

I'm coming back next week, hoping to get an order within a week or two

I just picked up a stack of cut to size 1" plex today from a plastics supplier, gonna get to building my temperate pico soon. Funny thing is, now that I've done this, now I'm waffling on the filtration, but I'm sort of stuck to basic tank design...

Nice! I just made mine real basic. Followed the same thing as a biocube pretty much, gonna add in a small skimmer later on.

that was my original plan, do an AIO type design...I may still very well do that, but I may go back and buy some more plex to make the tank a bit longer then...
I am also considering using a canister (wrapped in insulation) or even a tiny sump... I got too excited at the plastic supplier, and just had to go ahead and buy stuff. I'm a designer, I should know better.

I should have a 2g coming within the next week or so, I'll hop on your coldwater order when you put yours through :)

Got a deal on a used 2g micro-reefs standard system, so I jumped on it. The 3 or 4g system is still being tested by Mike at Micro-Reefs. It's a long testing process, so I jumped the gun and got the 2. Probably will still get the larger one, too.

I wonder if I talked to the same guy that you're buying the system from...
