Is anybody keeping a Firefish (Nemateleotris magnifica) with any of the following types of fish: Clownfish, Damsels, Tangs, Wrasses, Chromis, Anthias, Cardinals or Basslets. I had one years ago and it got shreaded by a Purple Pseudo. It was a nasty fish.

I have the following fish, with no aggression issues: Pair of Ocellaris Clowns, Pair of Lyretail Anthias, an Azure Damsel, a Hippo Tang, Sixline Wrasse, Green Chromis, Banggai Cardinal, Royal Gramma & Yellow Watchman Goby. I have around 120 lbs of LR, so there are plenty of hidding spots.

Just interested in what tank mates you have your Firefish with.

I currently have a 75g reef with a purple firefish, red firefish, percula, royal gramma, tail spot blennie and a banggai cardinal. No problems, for the most part everyone gets along.

In my 75 a Red Firefish shares the tank with a Rainfords Goby and a pair of Flame wrasses. The female wrasse chases the fire fish occasionally but shes a Bit** and chases the male wrasse even more.

I have a firefish in a 215 with 8 wrasses, a Royal Gramma, pair of clowns, couple of anthias, pair of Barred gobies, Yellow tang and a couple of small angels. I was concerned most about the goby pair but there hasn't been any drama at all. The little firefish just does its own thing. Great fish.

my purple fire fish shares his 30g mini reef with the following

pink skunk clownfish (pair)
1/2 black drawf angel
scissor tail dart fish

with no issues and the fire fish was the last fish added to the tank infact he was out and about the 1st day

3 mushrooms and 2 colt corals equals the mini reef

My firefish shares a tank with a scooter blenny and a clown pair. When I first brought him home around christmas time there was a cb shrimp a blue devil and 3 spot damsel with the clown pair. The two damsels chewed up his high fin on his head and chased him around the tank soon as he hit the water. I had to tear down the whole tank to get the damsels out which now reside in a 5 gal tank I had to throw together with some water change water from my 38 gal. The fin grew back and os content with the clowns and blenny

in my 75g I have 2 purple firefish, 2 o clowns and 1 bi color blenny and they are all happy and all have awesome personality.

My pair of purples in is with the fish in my signature. No problems after about 3 months. But they are very shy and hide even when I just turn off the flow or if I don't sneak up on the tank. They are beautiful and having a pair is extra cool. They hid for at least a week straight when I first got them. They are by far the shyest fish in my tank. But they are really beautiful.

i have a pair of fire fish in 110 g tank with tomini tang, maroon clown, green chromis, rabbit fish, 2 engineere gobies, and a bicolor angel. (currently fishing the angel out, he started nipping at the corals) all the fish play nice.

I have a trio of firefish in a 125 with a yellow tang, two black clowns, diamond goby and a bangai cardinal. Ive had one or two in the past, but they seem to do better as a trio then by themselves. I also had a purple in with them, but he got singled out and dissapeared one day.

I have a Purple... it gets along with everyone in my siggy just fine! The Yellow Watchman is the newest guy, so far everything is great.

my firefish and two ocellaris clowns get along just fine.
I've seen a 6 line and firefish live together happily as well, but that's just one case. 6 line's can be a pain.
