Hey all:)
I was just wondering as I will be offering some frag packs on the selling forum soon. I am looking for boxes and foam sheets(to cut up and line boxes with) as the styrofoam coolers are a bit much from what I understand.
TIA, Chris

Fishdoc,

my wife has brought home several boxes form work that are insulated for pharmasuiticals (sp) from the dr.s office she works for. they are cardboard with a white airfilled insulation.

I've noticed they are expensive too. I can't help with a local supplier, but I can give you the lowest ones I've found online.
40 hr heat packs for $1.20 and
8x6x4 Inner Dia. 1 1/2 in. thick styrofoam container with currogated box for $5.75 ea.
best part is they sell 4 packs so you arent stuck with a pallet of them sitting around.

Check with Barret (bschumaker) and Rendos in West Tn. Seems like they had some at the frag swap for sale.

Call around some labs and other medical places through them away I will check with some of my sources u may check the hospitals too.

There are always a bunch lying around the labs here at Vandy. PM me how many you need and about what size and I will see what I can come up with. I know of 3 that are about shoebox size in my lab right now.

Thanks guys I have several lying around from working at a Vet etc.... but am looking to get several more. I am looking for ~ 12 x 12 x 12 if anyone wants to donate but I don't mind buying as I will need several and I really don't have the time to call and drive around to pick up a few here a few there etc..

In my searches here on RC I saw that ordering the boxes online wasn't bad but getting them shipped to you is what costs a lot. Don't really know if that's true or not but I assume it is.

thanks for the help/suggestions:)

Chris

I'd say they would be expensive to ship because of all the space they take up. I would think you could find the foam sheets around somewhere. I know Lowes sells some insulation foam for houses that might work. I know you can make some cool electric airplanes out of the thinner stuff. lol I think they have some pink stuff that is thicker. Just an idea, I am not sure how it would work.

Chris...I have several (50 or more) styro boxes, but they are kinda small/medium sized(12 X 8 X 8 I think). I also have plastic bags, heat packs, ice packs, etc. If you are ever around Jackson, let me know...I will make you a killer deal on all of it. I was selling a lot online at one time, but do not plan on shipping anymore. I really need to get rid of all these supplies.

Just noticed you posted Richard. I changed my settings on here and haven't been getting updates:rolleyes:
I think I have several lined up but will probably need more.
Will the boxes be able to hold 10 frags? Know anyone comming this way in the next couple of weeks? I'll PM boofer and see if he is.
thanks, Chris

I doubt they can hold that many frags. Probably 6 frags max...but that depends on what size frag, and what size bag you put them in, etc.
