I have 2 24" all blue reef brite XHOs on my 93 cube. Amazing actinics with great pop. Especially on LPS and zoas. I wouldn't go with 50/50 because they can't be controlled between the whites and blues so you won't get the lone actinic look when you want it. I'm not a fan of the whites as they aren't as crisp as a halide or a canon led, which is what I use with the XHOs.
The reef brite drivers aren't dimmable. However with just the blues really no need to dim them. I think I read somewhere that they are planning on coming out with dimmable versions eventually
Nice find in the dimmer bhsgk
I thought they were coming out with something like that. Not sure it's necessary but I guess if you want to fine tune your look it adds that extra element.
It looks like that dimmer could be additionally added. Like I mentioned before I don't think it would be necessary. I don't think actinic led would be too intense for corals. It's mostly the whites that I think corals can be more sensitive too.
Everyone else agree with that?
