Anybody use Hamilton 14K MH's?

Anybody that's using or has used Hamilton 14K MH's notice good coral growth? I am considering switching from my current SE XM 10K 250W MH's to the Hamiltons. I believe they are one of the best for 14K.

I like the slight blueish look of the 14K's. Anybody have any problems with them?

I prefer phoenix 14K if your talking color. But I wasn't concentrating on growth. I have a small tank, so I prefer slow growth. Never had problems with the hamilton, and I did have acro growth.

i have them, i cant comment on coral growth yet but corrliline took off quite a bit more under these lights. had them a month no trouble yet

I switched from 5500K-10,000K-14,000K and 14s seem better to me. JD

I have been running hamilton 14k but my tank has only been running for a few months so i wouldnt know about growth.

i just switched from hamilton 2-250w 14k to 2-250w hamilton true 10k a little while back noticing rapid growth already with the true 10k, the 14k had much slower growth, but i really did like the color of the 14k, so depends on what u want color or growth, i went with growth since im going full blown sps in a 120g and want to grow them for fragging.

I'm looking for color first, but also want some growth. I have LPS, Some SPS and Softies.

I have the Hamilton's and Phoenix 14K's, they are both good. I am running them on magnetic ballasts and prefer the Phoenix. The Phoenix are bluer, have more intensity and PAR. With the magnetic ballast the Hamilton's really do not look very blue, almost cool white and not much intensity. No corals yet to compare growth.

I've had the Ham 14k and had a bulb go out premature and got a low rate reimbursement, I never saw to much growth, I switched to xm 15k and have better growth and the color comparison between the two is hard to distinquish

supertech3 - I thought the XM 15K's weren't very good. Are you using a magnetic ballast?

How long have you been using the XM 15K's? What corals do you have? I have LPS, SPS & Softies.

I use the 14k hammy, I absolutely love the color. I've had great growth in all my corals, SPS, LPS, and softies. I'm hooked on this bulb for good!!

I use the Hamilton 400w SE 14k on a standard PFO ballast with LAIII reflectors and the 250w DE 14k on a Icecap ballast with the PFO mini pendants. The 250w HQI'a are not the greatest, and I probably will never use them again. I do like the 400w 14k Hamiltons a lot though.

I'd say I'm getting pretty good growth using the 400w 14k, but this coral is up pretty high in the tank.

I run PHX 250's over my displays and I have hammy 14kde 250 over my prop tank . Conditions are close in both the 120display and prop tank . However grwoth is better under the PHX IMO.

Growth under the ham14k is slow but visible. IME

IMO if your not going for a 1 bulb solution then I would get 10k .I have always liked Ushio 10k with actinics . Ushios have always given me great grwoth in all corals.

I just bought 2 400W Hamiltons and 2 1000W Hamilton 14K's for work. Has anyone used the 1000Watters before?
