I'm thinking of strapping these on my 2 maxijets 1200s for my 60 cube. Would this be sufficient for my tank?

using it for my tunzes... love them, looks a lot cleaner than using the brackets

You can cut the flange off of them and then they will not be so big and ugly. They seam to work Ok if mounted horizontally. But not vertically pointing down. They constantly get jammed up with snails for me in a vertical position.
