Anybody Want Cool Macroalgae?

I've got a ton of this in my tank. Looks to be Ochtodes macroalgae. It's really pretty and gets fluorescent in spots. It's very brittle and I saw a yellow tang devour it so it must be tasty too. I don't know if it has any other beneficial side effects but I keep some in my fuge too. :fun2:

I'm willing to trade it now in exchange for a frag in the near future after I swap bulbs.

Is that grape calerpa

No, definitely not.

I have someone picking up some tomorrow and I"m bringing some to someone else this weekend with a third person expressing interest. I'm not sure if I'll have enough if anyone else wants some, we'll see.

I've got some more to get rid of guys. Any takers? I'll be available this Thursday after 5pm and am in Port Jeff.

Do I need to have it tumble like chaeto?

I have no sump but it would be cool to get some nice macroalgaes in the display if they are okay for the fish to be around. I need more hiding places and my lights are way too powerful on my FOWLR tank. I have GHA all over when my water parameters are fine. It's just a new light but if I had something that would help then it would be very cool and my fish would love it.

More than likely any tangs will eat this.

I have a flame angel. 2 firefish, 1 PJ Cardinal and 2 Clownfish.

Is this a macroalgae I can put in my DT and let it grow/be eaten? What type of care would I need? I have a BML MC Series 20,000K Fixture that I only run at around 18% right now but could easily bump that up.

You probably couldn't if you tried. The stuff is very brittle so anytime you touch it little pieces will break off and float around the tank. Even if you had a fuge, some of it would eventually end up in the DT. I've had pieces break off and then get stuck the the intake vents on my vortechs. Within a few weeks I need to peel my vortech wet side from the glass and use my fingers to get off the macro. I usually dump it in my fuge or give it away.

I saw a yellow tang devour this stuff so don't get a tang if you want this as a display piece. I think it does make a pretty cool display piece if used that way though.
