Anyone able to drill a 10 gallon?

what size hole? i have cracked 3 trying tp put a 1.25" hole in a 10g, but have successfully drilled a 5g....same size hole. I wish I could get a decent hole in a 10g so I can have a frag tank.

ya pretty thin stuff. Have to go really slow. Might want to add a backing to it. Not exactly sure about the size of the hole saw but its the size that you use for the 3/4 bulk head.

Just one of these bits, a dremel, a sharpy, and some slow running water is all you need to cut holes with. It's a little more work then the barrel bits, but less chance of breaking in my experience. Just have to go slow until you make the initial hole, then cut away. If it's gonna break it will do it when the bit breaks through. Use a slow running water hose or a spray bottle to keep the glass wet and cool as you cut.

Yup. The bit will cut right around the circle like a saw. You don't end up with a perfect circle like you would with a barrel bit, but unless you have a drill press the barrel bits are very risky to use. On really thick glass the dremel takes some work, but on a smaller tank it's nothing. It takes me about 10 minutes per hole with a dremel. Once the initial hole is drilled you can just go to work. There is little to no chance of breaking the glass after the hole is drilled.

Thanks for the input on that i was going to need to drill a couple holes in a 75g and 55g for $10 bucks that is a deal.

Thanks
Jason
