Anyone clean their Mag Floats?

Just wondering. The "wet" side gets full of algae and debris after about 6 months, and I've been throwing them away and replacing them. Does anyone go to the trouble of cleaning it instead? If so, with what? It seems doable, I guess I've just been lazy about it, plus they're pretty cheap. I guess it could be soaked in vinegar?

i don't even bother to clean mine..it still works just as well.

I clean mine by scrubbing it in a bucket of tank water. Will sand getting under it scratch the glass. Its always hard to clean the sand line isnt it.

Never cleaned mine. I just take it off the glass and swish it in the water.

my snails clean the plastic in the tank on the magnet.
