anyone cultivate microalgae in their refugium?

because macroalgae is so oldschool.

Anyone here cultivate the likes of Green Hair Algae (GHA) in their fuge?

GHA known to absorb more Po4 and No3 than the likes of Chaeto.

Not on purpose but it's not in my display so I'm not going to mess with it. I have huge balls of turf algae looking stuff growing on my chaeto.

That stuff is great in a sump. I had whatever algae I could find growing in there. Probably 5 different species.

I used to run a hang on the back refugium on my 75g tank to grow GHA and for a pod farm. It worked out great honestly. I had to harvest the GHA about once a month. I couldn't grow Macro algae so I grew GHA.

ATS (Algae Turf Scrubber)...
Removing turf algae from your "typical" fuge (rock/sand) would be a PITA..
Pulling it from a screen dedicated to growing it is much easier..
