Anyone drill tank.

Looking for either a trade for a drilled 75or someone who can drill tanks. I want to get a sump very badly for my tank and I would appreciate any help. I've looked on Craigslist and stuff but they all want to sell they're tanks as a whole.

It is really very simple to do yourself. You can buy the diamond hole saw that fits in a standard drill on www.bulkreefsupply.com for under $20. eBay, under $10.

If you decide to do it, there a a few pointers we can offer. I promise you it's pretty easy if you decide to give it a shot.

Yeah i wouldnt mind trying it on a smaller on or sonething first but i just dont want to try first on my display tank ya know.

Got it. I drilled a sump my first time. No biggie. When I drilled my semi-custom 200 display I was PUCKERED UP! Took about 30 minutes per hole.

Yeah I have drilled a bunch of 20 longs, and it is pretty easy. Just make sure the class you are drilling is not tempered. Check with the manufacturer of the tank or do the polarized glasses trick. Let the drill do the work.

Well I think that I might give it a whirl. I have o idea if it's tempered or not so I'll have to gamble. I tried looking for a tag but found nothing. I don't own polarized sunglasses Maybe I should pick a cheap pair up. I looked at a bunch of videos it seems pretty simple just nerve wrecking.

I plan on getting the sump this week. So I should be drilling sometime this month. Whenever I feel like tearing apart my tank and rebuilding it.

What brand? If its a 75 it should be ok but the bottom will likely be tempered. Most 55s are tempered, it's wierd.

Ok thanks everyone for the help! It would be noce to borrow those bits. Im not sure about bringing it to the meet because i wot have much time to keep fish and corals out of the tank. I plan to keep them in storage containers were i keep my RO water witg the live rock while i drill then get it back together fast. So basically i want to drill it at home. I will post again wen i know definately what and when im going to do. Hopefully by next week
