Anyone else used Flucanazole to cure Bryposis?

I had an outbreak of Bryposis, and decided to get Flucanozole as it seemed to work for many.

I am actually impressed, I am 5 days in so far and I'd say it's working. I will have to post progress photos whenever I get the photos off my phone and on an image server.

No negative effects on my CUC or inverts. My rock nem has been closed an unhappy, not 100% sure if it is the flucanazole or not.

has anyone else used it? what are your experiences?

As of this morning - 7 days into treatment (and will have to take an updated photo), my Bryoposis is about 97% gone!

Day 3: It's starting to weaken and showing signs of disgineration

I have estimated 90 gal total water volume, I dosed 2,000mg

they come in 200mg capsules- 20mg per gallon of water is recommended it seems

I've been battling some bryopsis and I'm using sea slugs to defeat it. They aren't that aggressive and sometimes end up in the overflow.
I may use this medication.

I recommend it. There's been no adverse reaction to any of my corals. fish or inverts.
I suggest turning off the skimmer and taking out all carbon.

My rock nem did melt away, but I am not sure if it's from the flucanzole or not. I can't rule it out.

almost 2 weeks in and tank is 100% free of bryposis! I'll do a decent WC this weekend.

Hey fishykat, so the bryopsis is still fully on the rocks, but it's getting lighter and seems to be wilting.
I'm also noticing more cyano, I'm assuming from the release of nutrients from the dying Bryopsis?

I'm dying to put my skimmer on, run carbon, and do a water change...

I leave on Saturday for Aruba. I'm going to lose sleep.

it was hard not to run carbon/skimmer! I did after a week. I didn't notice any cyano on my end. reduce your lighting? I did that too.

and have fun in Aruba!!!

I think my tank is still new and suffering with this issue.
My Montipora Undata that I got from Sal is not looking good since I dosed.
I have a couple of other corals that seem to not like the conditions.

I hope I can turn that around after I get back from vacation.

Update...
I got home tonight to find my Bryopsis in full retreat.
Some spots are completely gone.
This stuff actually works!

This am it was almost completely gone from the rocks.
There are a few patches still there, but they are in full recession.
My macro algae survived no problem.

I decided to turn my skimmer back on this am.
I will put carbon back tomorrow night after a 10 gallon water change.
