Anyone else using 20g sump on 75 or bigger tank?

The only thing that is really nagging me is should i get a 29g or just stick with the 20. I have ordered a sump kit and it might fit the 29 if the width is close to the same as the 20. I'm running a 20g long with my 90, had to go with an external skimmer to get it to work with a refugium though.

20Galon long and haven't had any problems, no room for a fuge tho

A 20 long doesn't give u much room. A 40 breeder is better but it comes down to what works for you and what you are trying to do.

If your not going to get extra width then I don't see the point other then to add more volume.

Same for me. The skimmer ended up being to big so I went with an external.

When i measure, the refug is 12x12. Not huge but should be enough room for some chaeto and maybe a few mangroves.

I am really worried this 20g is not going to be enough. The problem is the stand i have will not hold a 40 breeder. I have one and cannot use it. I am not sure i am crafty enough to rebuild the stand. I would love to have more volume.

Unless it's wider to give more room to the skimmer I don't see much of a point. You could make a small tank to hold the skimmer but the cost may not be worth it.

How wide is the stand inside? Maybe you could do a 5 gallon bucket. Not sure how big one is vs your skimmer. Another option might be a boat battery box but they maybe to narrow. You need something probably what 12x12 at least.
