I'm trying this right now actually. I have 2 BTA's a little smaller than softballs in a 55 that is a pure anemone/clownfish tank. 5 black ocellaris and 5 false percula. There is also one little blue and yellow fiji devil in there to try and add another target for aggression. All the clowns were introduced simultaneously and as young juves(about an inch long). Its been running for only about 2 weeks but this is what I have observed so far.
No fighting between the black occys and the false percs, although this may be due to the age difference between the two (the f.percs are a little older and average about a half inch bigger). So I think the black occys might still have baby immunity from bickering.
The f.percs are interesting. The two biggest only threw down with each other and that was for a few days before the smaller submitted, now they behave like a pair and have claimed a nem. The other three are close in size but one of them (I call him Lbar) is relentless is establishing dominance over the other two. In retrospect I regret not adding 7 instead of 5, as that might have dispersed the aggression further. Lbar is accepted around the nem of the pair (they chase the other two), so it appears that the pair have accepted him as a neutral(we'll see if Lbar is ok with that once they actually differentiate). The other two have to hide in the rocks because Lbar will chase them endlessly if they reveal themselves.
Its gonna be interesting to see how it progresses. The aquascape right now is two mountain of LR (left and right) with a empty sandbed gap in the middle. The mountains only go about halfway up the tank though giving Lbar great vision of the entire tank. I'm planning on building up the boundary LR to eliminate the line of site from one side of the gap to the other in an attempt to make Lbar work harder to make the two outcasts lives miserable. I don't want to remove Lbar because it appears I have an actual hierarchy forming with the pair and lbar. If Lbar turns on my black occys with the same vicious resolve he has towards the outcasts hes gone though.
In terms of the black occys there has been nothing interesting yet. All the f.percs pretty much ignore them unless they get too close to the claimed nem, and even then they don't bite they just do a feint charge and the occys get their distance. No bickering between them internally yet either, they're still just cute little baby wigglers though.
