Anyone ever order from saltwaterfish.com?

hi, has anyone ordered anything from saltwaterfish.com? some of their prices seem really good in comparison to other sites, and they offer free shipping at $99 as apposed to $250. i want to avoid sick/doa fish though, so i thought i'd check if anyone has had good or bad experiences with them.

I have and the fish came just fine but I had issues with the corals. They gave me store credit but I still had to pay shipping for the second order. But when I got the original package it had gotten too hot and that's what cooked the corals

I've never had a problem with them but I've read of lots of people who have had issues with their order and CS has been a nightmare.

I ordered clean up crew from them ...wasn't too impressed because they barely used any water to ship them in--some hermits were even shipped dry. Majority of snails, hermits, etc. did not make it. Depending on what you want, I'd go with liveaquaria or just your regular LFS :)

i agree 100% calistyle. i ordered the build your own cleanup crew twice from them, and was very happy both times. though the first time i ordered 20 zebra hermits and there where only about 5 zebras and the rest random mixed hermits, but they gave a credit for those with no hassle.

i'll probably start a new detailed thread about my experience with saltwaterfish when everything is all said and done, but right now i can't say im pleased with them.

OK good to know. I'll hold the order I was gonna place.

Thanks for the info and coming review.

I would most definitely cancel it if you placed it! They are really bad. I heard about some details last night. They have bad pub in the vendor experiences with titles of "Buyer Beware" and now I know why

ok, instead of starting a new thread to summarize my experience with saltwater fish, but i decided not to. they did eventually offer a credit for $80 after i submitted a claim with the BBB, so i can't say customer services was great. the package did arrive a day late and a rainford was DOA, but there was a freak storm at LAX, so i can't %100 blame them, and rainford's are sensitive little fish. as far as the rest, one fish was sick, but the coral frag i ordered came better then i expected.

overall, i'd say they can have some really good deals at times and sometimes their stuff can be quite a bit cheaper then liveaquaria, plus you don't have to order $250 to get free shipping. however, if you plan to order from them, take your own precautions. if you order hardy fish in warm weather, im sure you will be very happy with your experience.

i will have to order again to use the credit, so i'll post that experience if anyone is interested, otherwise i'll let this thread fade.

I'm interested, but likely will not order from them. But I'll wait to see how your second order works out before I decide.
Good luck.

I ordered a McCullochi clownfish last week and it came in perfect condition. Water was nice and warm and it was well packed.

I ordered from them last week and i never will again. Like a lot of people said there wasn't a lot of water in the clean up crew and most of it came dry. I ordered three clownfish only got two and one was DOA. The one that survived and my Helfrichi firefish were/are in perfect condition although they are quite small a little less then an inch long. I have put in for their guarentee on friday but as of today all I got on an email on saturday saying they would let me know about everything in one to two days...yeah not going with them again, I am sticking with tried and true LiveAquaria.
