I have 2, one small, around 8", and one giant 16"+. Not as aggressive as most Acanthurus sp., but they get absolutely huge, and grow very fast. No way I'd put one in something under 500 gal., and preferably something over 1k.

Interesting. DD has them as getting to 14 inches which is smaller than all the other acanthurus they look similar to like bariene, horseshoe, duss, etc.

No pics, not my favorite fish. What exact species is it? A. grammoptilus or A. blochii? Both are commonly referred to as "fine lined," and is another reason why common names suck. The yellow-masked tangs are all very similar in appearance (except A. barienne), but max sizes can vary quite a bit between species.
