I saw some on sale and was curious if they would work in a reef tank. I've had flaming scallops and clams but I've never seen oysters. Isn't a reef tank too warm for them?
heat would probably be less of a problem than the lack of suspended food available. Oysters are filter feeders and are found in more turbid waters than we have in our glass boxes. I see them starving
I tried it about 20 years ago when I had a tank in England. They live for a month or so, but ultimately die. At the time I presumed it was temperature, but starvation may also play a role.
