Anyone ever thought about keeping a lobster in a tank?

Was at the store today and saw those lobsters in the tank. Was thinking afterward that for $15 you could have a species tank that was pretty cheap to setup.......or is it just me?

I had a blue spiny in my tank...ate my snails and hermits, some coral and then i got rid of him...he would be sweet in a lobster only tank, but that is about it...

those lobsters are kept at 41 degrees f. you need a special chiller to do that but if you really want to i know people in that industry, plus if you dont get attached to em they are yummy

You want to keep the pH about the same, the butter around 8 and the garlic around 3. The perfect lobster temp is ~boiling.

Some close friends of mine down in West Palm have a Florida lobster "Rocky" in a tank in the LFS they own. I think they have him registered as being for "educational purposes" or something to that effect.

He's pretty cool...he's HUGE, and puts up with the dinner jokes from all of the store patrons! He gets fed quite well, and takes care of any casualties from their livestock shipments.

If they can keep them alive in wally world I should be able to keep one alive in a home tank!!!!

Now...how about those mussels and clams?
