Anyone have a 36" wide tank?

Yes..60X36X25 penninsula tank and I like it. Able to have three islands of rock in a triangle arrangement. Lots of room for the fish to swim in and around, plus lots of area for corals.
 
The wider the better... i have a 30inch tank and if i had an extra 6inches i know how much better it would look.. my tank im hoping to go all out to 48inches...
 
Put in an order over a week ago for a 480gal 96X48X24.....going to keep a shark and a ray in it...
 
I have a cube 48x48x24, love it... but i think it is kinda small now :). My next tank is going to be 96x36x22 or 20 (custom tank for short people :) )
 
Mine's only 30 deep but it's 36 tall. Kind of makes for some intersting aquascaping. I have noticed that even with a deep tank, you kind of loos perspective of it from the front. But when you look down a nice long 7' lenght, like looking at it from the end, it really gives a full depth persepctive.

I'm usually standing at the end of my tank looking down it's lenght. :D
 
I've had a 60"L x 36"W x 28"H in the past and currently am working on a 96"L x 36"W x 28"H tank. I would never go to anything less than 36"W at this point and nothing higher than 28" for access purposes.
 
120x36x30 3 side viewable low iron i would have gone 120x48x34 if I could do again

Slowly setting up a 84x36x30 but wish i'd gone 48 wide now. Didn't want to push my luck with the wife tho or get myself into something with too many gallons to financially sustain...
 
Let me ask this now...
I plan on building mine into a wall so from the viewing side you will only be able to see into the front of it. Is it still worth having it 36" wide even though the width will be hidden behind the wall in my "pump room"?
 
That appearance of depth really sets a tank apart from the 'wall of rock against back' look. Tho for any given rock setup you cna make a tank look amazing i think.

Plus seeing your fish using the front to back area to swim in is nice too...a little less end to end swimming looks a little more natural.
 
So if I do it "in wall" whereas from the viewing room you will only see the front, is it worth it to have only the front in low iron? Or do you recommend the sides also in low iron (which will only be in the pump room?) Which brings up the next question...is low iron worth the extra money? Also, didnt realize that glasscages charges extra for the overflows and holes....from their website it makes you think that you get the entire tank for a certain price (including overflows) but then they charge extra for the overflows :(
With the price they are giving me with the additional cost for low iron and the extra price for overflows, I'm thinking its worth it to go with a starphire tank from Mitch at Interamerican...anyone have any recommendations?

If you can go 48" I have a 72x48x30 now and will expand to a 96x48x30 at my next house (or bigger)

The width is something you can appreciate until you have it
