Which brings up the next question...is low iron worth the extra money? Also, didnt realize that glasscages charges extra for the overflows and holes....from their website it makes you think that you get the entire tank for a certain price (including overflows) but then they charge extra for the overflows
"With the price they are giving me with the additional cost for low iron and the extra price for overflows, I'm thinking its worth it to go with a starphire tank from Mitch at Interamerican...anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks,
Jeff"
Paul-Good to see you again!

Im leaning towards Mitch at InterAmerican and doing starphire
I had his contact info several months ago but I need it again. Thanks everyone!
So I am planning on a either a 280 or 336 gallon tank depending on the room I have when I find my new house (Hopefully by the end of January when my lease is up here).
280 would be 60x36x30
336 would be 72x36x30
Either or, I think the equipment list will be fairly similar. Here is what I plan on starting off with. As you will see, I need some suggestions on brands and possibly recommendations on other equipment which should be necessary to start this new big tank. Thanks for any help!
1. Tank -- Check Aquarium Obsessed
2. 75 gallon sump-Take my existing and convert to a sump/refugium with baffles. ( Go WAY bigger on this... you need a place to do the big water change.... got to tractor supply and get poly tubs 150g for the sump works great)
3. ASM G4 skimmer (I have a G3 and am happy with it...are there other brands that are possibly better?) (You are going to need more skimming that that.... check out the GEO skimmers, Deltec stuff like that)
4. Lights- HELP! - I would like to go with metal halides and T5's. I most likely will have the halides suspended from the ceiling. I'm not at all familiar with T5's, so I need help here. Please let the suggestions roll in (If you do the right bulbs you won't need T5's I run 4x 400w bulbs on HQI ballasts and no T5's great color and don't have the extra room taken up with the t5's)
5. Calcium Reactor - Don't have one now so I need recommendations on brand/type. (Can't go wrong with GEO)
6. Pumps- Leaning toward Sequence externals- How many will I need/what type? (this depends on the CL and the head you will need to get back up to the tank... I run 2 Hammerheads and a Dart on my systems and have had no trouble with them)
7. Closed loop/tunze/seaswirls?- I think this is gonna take the most thinking. (This again will depend on other items as well... I use OM 4way but I have no doubt that there are other good systems as well.)
8. Fans-For display tank and sump (You may not need these depending on the other items.. I would add these as needed. If your canopy has an open top you may be ok there... if not you will definately need fans)
9. Storage tanks with auto topoff- This will probably come later.
10. Heaters-Please recommend type/brand.
Thanks everyone for the help!
Hope that helps some... my $.02
