Anyone have a cheap skimmer?

I'm waiting on a trade to go through on the forums, but it's looking like I won't have a running skimmer for at least 2 weeks. In the mean time, I'd like to get a cheap skimmer to at have something filtering the water until I can get a real skimmer. So, I thought I'd just check to see if anyone has a skimmer they would be willing to let go for cheap. I'm in the Auburn area, but I wouldn't mind paying $10-15 for shipping.

Just thought I'd give it a try.

Thanks.

PS: I've also got GSP and frogspawn to trade for, or in addition to, $$$ for a skimmer.

I'd just do weekly water changes in the mean time. Would probably be better then what a cheap skimmer would do anyway. Just keep an eye on your PH.

I'm doing water changes. But you can actually see a brown film on the top of the water. It has even made a line at the top of the water.
Even a seaclone could probably pull some of this out...

With brown film on top of the water, you are better off surface skimming with an overflow box, and them manually collecting the film with floss or some other washable/replaceable media.

Not that a skimmer won't help with your nutrient levels, but it won't be direct help with film on the water.

Well i ended up DIY'ing a cheap skimmer from a limeade bottle... Anyway, how about a SCWD? Anyone happen to have one before I buy it off eBay? I've heard pretty good review on them and would like to try one out.
Thanks
