Anyone have a "cove" type aquascape?

Hey all, just curious if anyone here has a cove type aquascape? Where the rock kind of curves making a crescent..

I'm thinking of maybe doing this kind of aquascape with a "showpiece" in the center of the cove, possibly a clam.. My tank is being built right now and is a 24x24x18 "cube".. I'm guessing this kind of scape would either be more appropriate for cubes or really large tanks that are quite deep

If anyone has a scape like this please post pics if you have any :)

Thanks!

i do, but it's hard to illustrate in pictures. THe left sid of my 125 is a steap cove that goes from the bottom ot the tank to the top. The right side is flat, layers of spacious shelf type rocks.....

Looks great in person, but like crap in a picture.

I have 2 coves..... that meet in the center

Here's my 24" x 12" x 24" 30g. A 'cove' type aquascape can be done in a tank that's not deep front to back, but it's challenging. With 18" to work with, I think you could do something really nice :)

I have one "reverse cove." It is constructed of rock against the back glass, carefully stacked and interlocked. It looks like a big bommie jutting out from the glass, but is completely hollow behind the structure (roughly basketball sized space). The fish really seem to appreciate this space.

Nice looking scaping! :) I acutally have 24x24 to work with. 18" is the height.. 24" front to back and left to right :) Thanks for the pic it gives me ideas :)

Yeah I definately want all sides to be "open" to some degree.. I don't want any areas that are difficult to get to with either my hand or water flow :) I also like the idea of the tank inhabitants to be able to "hide" if they feel stressed..

The tank will be viewable on 3 sides.

I have a 110 that is 24" deep. I attempted to create a cove with my LR and it seems to work well. From the way I directed the water flow, the outer edges of the cove get quite a bit of flow and the middle gets the rebound. I do have low flow spots behind the outer edge though that I tinker with trying to get some flow to every now and again. I think the trick to this problem is to get the return flow from the sump to bounce off the front glass and go into the rear corner on the rebound.

there used to be a clam cove before this brain grew up and the clams moved out
