i saw one in display tank i'm trying to find a retailer that has them. also trying to find out if anyone has had them and what the husbandry is for them.

I have had a Pale-lipped tang last year, I had to give it away. They are pretty hardy, albeit extremely aggressive. He turned on all the fish in the tank and became a terror. I would consider another fish, or make sure to add it last.

what size was it compared to the other fish? i was thinking on getting one the same size or slightly smaller than the other fish in my tank

I know this topic is old, but I'd say go for it! They are a truely gorgeous fish and has been a wonderful addition to my tank. I have one about 4" along with a 4" Fowleri, 6" naso, 3" sailfin, 5" blue, 4" chevron, 12" vlamingi. I have a total of 8 tangs in my 300g tank and they all get along beautifully! If you wanna see a video of them eating a 1/2 sheet of seaweed, go to youtube and type in "feeding time in the tang tank". That video was only about 2 weeks after adding the pale lipped, fowleri, naso, and chevron. For all the "haters" out there that think I have too many tangs, I also have a 180g sump for a total of about 400-425g of total water volume and all my fish get along great and are all super fat and healthy. So in short, I say get the pale lipped tang, you will love it. It is my favorite fish in my tank. Its kinda plain in comparison to some other tangs, but none-the-less its a gorgeous fish. I really like the orange fin tips.

Just to add..............my pale lipped tang is one of the least aggressive tangs in my tank. My blue eyed bristletooth is probably the most aggressive. The 12" vlamingi is probably THE gentlest(if that's a word lol) fish I have. She has never chased/picked on any of my fish. Hope this helps for anyone else looking @ one of these tangs.
