Hello to all,

I'm looking for a 1/2" or 3/8" npt tap. I need to add a fitting to my skimmer that needs to be threaded.

Thanks! Charles

Scott-Long time no see! Are you working or can you hit gho's swap?

Shane-thanks for the offer, I'll probably just go check the local ACE, they usually have it but they are switching over to a new brand of taps so they said it wouldn't be here till next friday. I'm just gonna have to go hunting :D

Charles...................Casa Depot on Placentia should sell that............check in the tool crib!!!

Steve :D

They only have littly girly taps for threading pinholes. If you want a real hole threaded you have to hit ACE :D

Even sears didn't have a tap for this size hole, if ACE goes under we are in bad shape!

They should have the kit that includes both the 1/2" & 3/8"...................hmmm

Well relying on the words of Casa Depot associates is something I learned to ignore a long time ago.......................Asked one that worked in plumbing if he had "no-hub" connectors & he looked at me as if I was talking Russian..........

Charles,

Orchard Supply carries NPT taps up to 3/4"...about $30 if I remember right. I'm heading down to Irvine tomorrow afternoon if you want to use mine. I have 1/2" and 1/4" taps and dies.

Ryan-Thanks for the offer, I bit the bullet and found an ACE with them in stock. The tap was cheap compared to the $30 drill bit they sold me hehe

Scott-bummer man! Oh well, next time! The tort is doing great btw- it has several 1cm branches now! You weren't kidding either, that thing is slooooooow :D

The blue stag is all over my tank now, man that thing grows like a champ!

haha, I just cut like 10 frags and a 3" mini colony, the stag was growing out of the water =)

I can't wait for the tort to become a colony, don't think I'll ever cut that piece =)
