I know many of us have theories of how the AEFW got out of control. Many people feel it is due to lack of acro crab and or the interceptor treatment itself.
Therefore, does anyone have or had AEFW problem that DID NOT treat with interceptor?
I don't treat for RB's and thats a bold assumption about them not having healthy corals . BTW I have breeding acro crabs also and had the flat worms. BTW I have 35+ acro crabs ........
Here's a picture of my not so healthy tank which doesn't get treated for red bugs and has them now!
If you want close ups to prove corals can be healthy with RB'S LMK
That is sweet that you are able to breed acro crabs. I thought it was not possible. That is good news. Bad news that you have the AEFW with them. That blows that theory away that they somehow protect the corals from them.
are you looking to sell any acro crabs. I would love to get some?
anyone else with AEFW and never treated with interceptor?
clkwrk, Thats friking cool. that crab carrying eggs. Nice pic.The crabs in my tank are increasing in No. too, allthoug not be able to witness one carryng eggs. PEACE
clkwk nice picture and work!! So you have used interceptor a while back?
So far nobody has chimed in that they have AEFW that DID NOT treat with interceptor? Interesting and it doesn't seem to relate to the acro crabs being killed off.
I know of some other people with amazing tanks that have red bugs and have for years. Personally, I had them and did treat to get rid of them. My corals were much happier after the treatment. What I am trying to understand is if the interceptor is messing with something else in the mix that allows the acro eating flat worms to explode in population. It seems that everyone having problems with AEFW has indeed treated. I don't know if there is some connection or the are just the same people who trade and buy corals often enough to get them.
I think we are passing it around and thats why its exploding in population. I hope I dont get shot for say this. But back in the day I never heard of these pest and bango, there everywhere.
