I was looking at these lettuce sea slugs, I wanted to maybe get a couple for my tank because I think that they are very interesting looking, and I wouldnt mind having a couple.

Are these harmless like the site says? What exactly do they eat.. Are these like the flame scallops and nudis and things that die w/ in a short amount of time because nobody knows for sure what they eat?

just as an FYI I've got a ton of coral and quite a few fish in the tank..

Any info would be apprecaited.

I just got one for my tank and I have not seen it try to eat anything but algae and that is only at night during the day he moves up high in on one of the tank walls to get close to the light as they also have zooanthelle in the lettuce looking part of the back which also helps to feed them. At night he goes to town on any algae he can get his mouth on. Really cool to watch and the only animal in the tank that have even looked at him twice was my cleaner who just had to give him the once over once he got in the tank.

if it's a lettuce Nuttibrance, I had two in a 120 gal. cool for a couple of days then never saq them. two months later had a clown hach and looked in the sump for stragglers and found one...WOW so I moved him/her back in the tank, saw it for a couple of days and nopthing for months....yes I did check the sump again:) who knows....but they are cool looking....Carl

i had one for about 2 weeks, it just stopped moving and died. i guess they feed on algae and sponge, apparently my tank didn't have enough. i bought another one and kept it for a week and it too started to look weak and thin so i sold it. personally, they look awesome, but i think are pretty difficult to take care of unless you know how to get them to eat.
p.s.-- avoid it if you have a good amount of current in your tank.

I have 5 of them.
They are very active and out during the day
I bought 1 from sealifeflorida.com
And 4 from reeftopia.com

The sealifeflorida is bigger with more ruffles
The reeftopia have more colors
