anyone have/build a simple top-off system?

Does anyone have an auto top-off system or can build a basic one cheaply? I am thinking of building an auto top-off for my sumpless 45G tank, with a reservoir that I can manually add RO?DI water to, but was wondering if anyone here had one or can make one really easily. I looked at the DIY sticky, just thought it might be best coming from someone who has made it before. I currently have to add about half a gallon of water every single day to the tank, and I hate relying on family if I have to be away for a few days. A 2-5 gallon reservoir would be awesome.

I can do cash or have a 50G bag of reef salt or a 20G freshwater setup that I can trade. Let me know, thanks.

hey. I typed a whole response which has now disappeared. must have gotten eaten.

Anyway. Easiest cheapest is gravity fed. but of course you need it close by and above sump. Reduce flow with i/v clip or ball valve. Use mechanical float valve. Non-redundant, but even if it lets go its only 5g.

I bought a cheap masterflex pump on ebay. Run it from adjoining roon with 1/4 rigid tubing.

I've been using a 25-30 gallon garbage pail filled with RO/DI water mixed with kalk. In it I have a pump attached to a LifeReef float switch in the sump.
