Anyone have close up pictures? Show 'em off!

jimichonga,

What species did you decide you have? Also, what's your LFS? I live in Mesquite. I just bought a bimac in Rowlett at Aquatic Creations and they have had bimacs and blue rings before (the blue ring was special ordered for a customer who then chickened out and bought a regular octo instead. Don't know what happened to the blue ring after that.)

I bought it!

No just kidding. After doing a lot of research on some octo biology sites (of with I lost the link, they were really nice with drawings and keys to identification, still trying relocate them and will post the link when I find them,) I concluded that its a Vulgaris. The LFS that I ordered it from is Aquarium Pet Shop-6726 Camp Bowie-Fort Worth. Its not that great of a shop but the owner has always helped us get what we want (only talk with the owner the rest of the employees are kids and don't know what's going on.) There is also the Boutique Pet Shop & Aquarium in Dallas, last time I went there they had two octos for sell, plus its one of the best LFS in the metroplex.

Where and what are you getting for octo food. I'm still trying to find a consistent live food supplier.

I recommend the book, Cephalopods A World Guide, by Mark Norman. It is the ceph ID bible. you can buy it at seachallengers.com

Jimichonga

I'm going to check out a source for live food tommorow. Send me an e-mail and I'll let you know how it turns out. My e-mail is kevomac@swbell.net. It hasn't worked in two days, but hopefully will be working soon. I've been to Boutique. The last time I went a few weeks ago they had a joubini, or Indonesian dwarf octo (I spoke with someone on the phone who actually knew what they had, too.) Have you ever checked out Aquatic Creations in Rowlett? They recently expanded, and the new shop is pretty nice.
