Anyone have experience with cuttlefish?

I would really... really love to set up a cuttlefish or two in a tank... Does anyone have any experience keeping them on the island? I would like to ideally get one or two Flamboyant Cuttles (Metasepia pfefferi) I know about dietary habits and all of that- but are there tank size minimums and where can I get a hold of them? Any LFS that you know of that might be able to get them?

I have an 80 gal Deep Blue frag tank(48x24x16 tall) that holds a single Flamboyant female. I bought the female at Country critters. Plan on getting a male soon. Not sure if CC still has any?

What do you know about their dietary habits? Maybe you can teach me something.

I also have 6 Sepia Bandesis (sp?) juvi's

Basically all info you will find is from Richard Ross and an article from Allison (Atlantis aquarium). I have found their info to be spot on.

Good luck!

I know they should be fed a mix of various inverts. Their brains are a lot like ours and need a lot of the same vitamins and minerals- I would recommend mostly live shrimp (because it is fun to watch them hunt) but I am pretty sure that you should try to sneak in some other nutrients from vegetables and other inverts- Also make sure they have lots of caves and things they can explore and hide in and play with. They are extremely intelligent and can get depressed if they aren't stimulated

How much did you get your cuttlefish for? I am thinking about setting up a 40 breeder solely for a few flamboyant- but I guess I would be open to other species.

Do you know if they can coexist? the different species?

My flamboyant will not eat anything other than shrimp (the smaller the better). But I load the shrimp up with cyclopeeze, Nutramar Ova, mysis, brine shrimp and nori.
I have had crabs living with her for weeks without any interest.
I don't keep any tank mates (don't want to take the chance)

I paid $250

How do you keep the temperature?
