Anyone have experience with the longnose Atlantic butterflyfish?

Hi all,

I have a 55 gallon reef and was just utterly surprised to learn that liveaquaria gives a suggest 50g for this fish. Their size requirements tend to be a bit conservative, so you have to imagine this has gotten me pretty excited considering I'd just resigned myself to never having a fish of this genus.

With that said, does anyone have any experience with this fish? They're supposedly hardy, but I think relatively rare since I can't find much on em.

In my tank currently I have a lawnmower blenny and mcoskers and Melanurus wrasse. I'm also planning on adding a filefish for aiptasia.

Some of them will pick at coral. If you can live with this possibility, then I have found them to be hardy fish that are good tankmates.
