Anyone have multiple Royal Grammas?

I found some old threads on this subject but I figured I would ask if anyone has recently tried a group of Royal Grammas.

I absolutely love these fish. I think every reef tank should have one : ) I would like to have a group of 5-7 in my 280.

Has anyone had multiple Grammas in their tank?

I havent tried it but Ive heard of very few situations where that will work. I did see a post here a while back where a reefer had a pair that were perhaps a mated pair and stayed together in his tank..

I have kept a few in a 40 gal tank with black cap basslets. In the wild they are in very lg groups, 100's of them under the ledges into the deeper water. They do well in groups or single, just make sure each one has a hole to go into.

I kept 3 in a 75 for about a year, but had to give them up when I moved. They all hung out together. aggression was minimal. JME

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'll definitely get a group of them once the big tank is up and running.

i keep 6 in my 210 reef for the past 2 years and they are great they occasionaly lock jaws when they come into each others territory but nothing seriouse just add them all togetther and make sure the tank is large enough to hause multiple specimens at once

most of the time keeping a large one with many tiny ones should work. usually the large one will be male, while the small ones are undetermined or are females

though i have read that the size doesnt always determine gender. so the large could potentially be an adult female. either way, one of the juviniles will turn male in this case while the rest turn to females.

oh yea, i bought a tiny and a large royal gramma and they never showed aggression at all when i put them into a 30 gal tank.
