Anyone have...

Does anyone have a light I can borrow for a few days? I only need a small one for my 24 gal nano, it's 20" wide but bigger will obvioulsly fit on it too. I have just under 100watts PC on it now but I'm re-doing the hood to add a metal halide. I will only need the light for a few days while I take the hood apart and do the work. I have zoos and leathers and anemones that I don't want to go without light.

Thanks

Got a VHO retro you can borrow....bulbs, ballast, sickets, reflector (mounted on a slab of wood).

Oh....its set up for 36" though. :(
Then again, I don't mind if you rig it to fit your needs. :)

Nothing pretty, but if I know you, you'll get her to work.

PM me.

Lou, you are better off not lighting the tank for a few days than switching it up with another unit. It can have very poor effects on the corals as in the past I've seen them bleach out when "temporaty" changes in lighting occour for even a few days.

Better off leaving it dark, or jerry rigging something to just rest your bulbs on top with some aluminum foil ghetto reflector ( ala-Greenman-esque) DIY to sustain it till your hood is done.

HTH.

I don't know how long it will take me to finish everything so I want to be prepared. I realize no light won't be bad for temporarily just as a storm in the reef but too long could be detrimental.

I have a Coralife 36" PC fixture I'm not currently using, was only keeping it as a spare. It has 2- 50/50 bulbs in it. Your more than welcome to borrow it for however long you need it.
Sorry it took so long to respond back about it, I forgot I had the thing sitting in my basement.
