I've tried lowes, menards, home depot, tractor supply and farm fleet, noone sells it. I want to start dosing with Randy's 2 part suppliment but cant find the ingredients. Looks like i might have order some online.

Try prestone driveway heat it is the same stuff if you still want to buy it. That is what Lowe's carries.

no i didnt give up i just want to get my CA up faster than what my CR is putting out, its pretty low right now.

i had some of the driveway heat but had to break it out durring the ice storm and never found any after that to replace it. I have a little bit left. How much to you mix. Is it like one cup per gallon of RO?

Actually doesnt look like ill need it, CA reactor is working now, actually i think i need to turn it down a little. Alk went up to 10.7 dKh and CA up to 420ppm overnite. And i finally got my Mg right on the money. Now if i could just do a water change, hopefully my RO membrane will be here tommorow.

I found the dowflake calcium chloride for like $12 for a 40lb bag of the stuff. When I looked at the prestone driveway heat it would have been almost 3x that for the same amount. If anyone else is looking for the stuff let me know.

I've been looking for the magflake as well. That's a little harder to find. Supposedly "Trugreen Chemlawn" is supposed to have it. I haven't gave them a call yet to verify. But if someone has some time that could be a good place to start.

Hmm, that's strange. I think I only paid about $18 for a 50# bag of prestone driveway heat. I know Lowes had it on sale for Dirt Cheap too last time I was there.

TrueGreen treats my lawn so I'll have to give them a call and see if they will sell me some. Thanks for the tip!

I never found it in a big bag. All I could find of the driveway heat were the small containers. And they were pretty pricey. Unless I was looking at the wrong stuff.

Let me know what you find out on the magflake.

Walmart on west Kimberly had the prestone, thats where I got mine

The price and availablity varies alot since to the rest of the world this stuff is ice melt.

If you want it cheap you should got it a month or two ago when the homecenter where unloading there winter stuff.

I used to use it, no side effects beside a huge coralline bloom and the fish had loose stools... The one thing that was pointed out as a negative was a possible build up of sulfur ions.
