I'm a big fan of the zeovit method and have been using it for thepast month and a half and the tank looks phenominal now, colors appear much brighter and more fluorscent. I actually see growth tips again on most of all my corals :celeb2:
I'm debating on whether or not to buy some zeospur2.. What is the actual benefit of using it? I know it says it reduces zooanthlae in the sps tissue, but how can this be a good thing?
just wondering if this is something to try or not? I'm wanting maximum growth rates and coloration from my corals...

Spur2 is the last element to use. it will work as you think., reduce zoox, make corals lighter, more open to growth, and more open to attacks and ....

it should be used, only if all corals are doing very well.

I dose a ton of thier stuff, lol I'll write down all the products and how often i dose..everything is dosed for 100 gallons of water. I have a 22 gallon fragtank, 90 gallon display and 30 gallon sump that probably contains 15-18 gallons of water as well. This 100 gallons might be a little on the small side of actual water but I do have a ton of liverock and 4-6" of deepsand bed as well
Stuff i dose:
Coral snow dose every other day of 4ml at night
Zeo bak dose 4 drops 3 times a week
Zeo start 3 dose .4ml twice a day
Zeofood 7 dose 8 drops once a week
amino acid concentrate for sps 4 drops every other day
amino acid concentrate for lps 2ml every other day
pohl's coral vitalizer 4 drops every other day
pohl's xtra dose 4 ml every other day
pohl's k balance 4 ml every other day
pohl's b balance 4 ml every other day
kaliumiodid-fluor concentrate ( pottassium iodide fluoride concentrate) 4 drops every other day
sponge power 4 drops ever other day
eisen concentrate (iron concentrate) 2ml twice a week

wow you dose alot ! no brown deposit Issues ? how does the tissue of corals look ? do you test for K+ ?

I would lower dosing coral snow, it can whiten corals. or mix it with AA when dosing at night [makes it easier for corals to consume AA.]

before trying zeospur, I would add biomate to the line up, it would lower po4 even more, and lighten your colors. I mix it with ZZ,. dose 4 times a week first week, then down to 2 times a week.

you can also remove ure DSB, and let Zeovit bacteria do all that, which would lighten up ure colors more [more N in system allowing more P removal.]

if corals are healthy, u can start spur.

yea i test for potassium once a week and it's sitting right at 380 atm..
i love the coral snow it and zeobac have wiped out my problem i was having with cyano.. been cyano free for 4 weeks now and loving it..
im uploading a ton of pics to photobucket of my tank all of my corals have dark vibrant coloration, only one that isnt quite happy is my red planet colony, i think i have it mounted too high in the display tank it looks more pink than red,lol
im not the best with using my new canon dslr yet but i'll get there..

I would agree with Allmost, zeo spur is the most powerful of the color promoters, it is very dangerous and should only be used when your coral is really healthy. It especially bleaches millis and caps, and has no effect on others. It is great but be careful.

After seeing my corals coloration do u think they could handle it?? Also does the color stay bleached? I love the color they are now i just want them to grow faster..

i cant believe you use all those zeo supplements and DONT use zeospur! thats single handedly the one zeo supplement that gives you the "zeo pastel look"... i use it every 1-2 weeks. i dose 2ml per dose for my net 120g. i would start with 1ml per 100g net and increase by .25 ml per week. there is a clear line that can be crossed if used in excess. what you can expect is for darker corals to lighten up and become brighter. I know, lighter and brighter seems contradictory to say but youll understand once you try it. for me, the line is crossed and i know im dosing too much when my bright colors become faded and turn an overly pale almost whitish color (tissue becomes so thin you can see the corals white skeleton!).... thats when i pull back and dose less. before trying zeospur out make certain ur parameters are perfect by zeo standards:

kh 8
mag 1350
n 0
p 0

Yea i went ahead and bought the 500ml bottle cause thats all they had of zeospur2.. Hopefully it wont expire lol i dunno if i wAnt pastel colors to me that sounds like going back to what i had before.. Washed out coral colors suck. I dunno guess ill try it and stop if i dont like the results. Will any harm be done if i decide to stop it? The coloration will return right?

Zeospur once dosed will lighten up color. by lowering number of those brownish bands in corals [if you look at macro shots.]

it shows max effect at 48 hours after dosing, and the effects start to wear off after 3 days. so yes, it will go away if you dont like it and stop dosing [or do a water change ]

Idea is, lower zoox, making coral more open to grow ...

the dosage dieselgrk posted seems very safe, I would go ahead and try it, and observe the changes.

but limiting factor for growth is usually po4 ! and biomate and ZZ mix would combat that much better IMHO.

try different mixes, see which takes ure reef to the next level you want

Can i chime in please as Ive been reading from a previous tank of the month winner. I have a bubble magus as my only source of filtration in a 29 gallon sump, i do not dose anything, atm. but would like to learn more on this method you guys are talking about..

So i have a phosban 150 from bulkreefsupply coming in the mail..i was going to use this to remove po4..as im having algae issues slightly..but no reading on test kits..

Was planning on getting a vertex r-x 4 calcium reactor, and also have no ATO unit..which i will be adding as well...is there a way with this equipment i could do this method? which i need to do alot more reading on im guessing..and my mag is 1500..which im guessing is high to even begin to think about starting this? so really i just wanna know how to do this method in a tank that has livestock in it or does it even matter i read elsewhere that it was best to do when setting up a tank..is this true? can i still doit..and if so point me in a direction of step by step how to start what to buy sorta link?? thanks if anyone is willing to help me out appreciate it..maybe skip on the r-x 4? and get the Korallenzucht Magnetic Zeovit Reactor S? or could i use my phosban for the dosing? i have no clue how to even begin to think about dosing but i want a great tank and have spent alot of money thus far prolly over 5k for a 90 gallon would appreciate any help again..thanks
