A friend of mine has a 30g w/ a 72w pc light. And he asked if brains would do fine under this kind of lighting. So is it possible to keep a brain under these lights?

hmm thats only 2.4 watts per gallon...

it really hard to say. maybe up towards the top he can try it.

here is a photo of my red brain under 608 watts.

Its 50/50, I'm going to tell my friend to put it as close as he can to the top. The lights on a hood and I believe about 7inches or so away from the light

I had a moon coral in my 24G nano with the stock lighting for about 2 years. It grew very well. I forget how much light it was under but it was not too much. Heres a pic (bottom left):

Thats a nice looking brain, whats the size of the tank? and how close is it near the light? so its under 68watts?

Better let my friend know if thats true that reds need less light when compared to greens. He wants a bright green one.

I don't think I've seen moon corals around my area. Thats pretty cool.

From wetwebmedia:
"Reddish to brown founds found in murkier or deeper waters."

which to me suggests less light....
