Anyone know about zoas in a seahorse tank?

We are getting ready to set up our son's seahorse tank. I'm doing an all zoas tank and was wondering if I could add some zoas in with the tank. This might be a question for the seahorse forum, but I wasn't sure what you all kept with your zoas.

I want something else in his tank besides seahorses and algae. If anyone has advice, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks guys!

u can keep zoo's with anything

i had 2 SH's in a 12 gal aquapod with buncha zoos, micromussa, candy cane, shrooms,

stay away from: anything with long tentacles that eats meat, AKA anemones, etc. sps should be fine

You should have no problem with zoos. Stay away from the bigger LPS with large appetites (lobos, elegance, trachys, etc). They will grab any fish that can't get away and eat it.

I saw a friends seahorse tank and it had alot of different types of macro algae. Alot of calurpa (sp?) for the seahorses to hang on to.
I'm thinking that if I spend money, sometimes alot of money on nice zoanthids, I wouldn't want macroalgaes taking root in the zoanthids and smothering them out.
Also, my zoanthids like a lot of flow in the tank, which you wouldn't want with seahorses.
Sounds like it would be a cool looking tank, but I'm just wondering about those issues, if they are issues.

we have lots of zos in our sehorse tank here at the shop it poses no problem that we have found.we have 2 powerheads at the top of a 42 gallon hex that are maxi jet 1200s and dont seem to pose a problem for the ponies who seem to play around in some of the flow in the tank.just make sure you have good covers over the intake because little ponies can get caught and dround if unable to detach from the intake on your powerheads or filters.i personally think zos and seahorses look great together .
