I just bought a red open brain coral and it looks like it is splitting into 2 different ones but its still attached at the moment, anyone know how to separate it without killing it?

Cut between with a dremel...try to avoid any fleshy parts and then place in some Lugols or other coral dip for about 10 minutes. Don't make the dip too strong, but it will help to keep any bacterial problems from starting. If you need more help, I will gladly frag it for you and show you how to do it. Marcye

Or if you have access to one, a band saw.....

Make sure its healthy, well acclimated and growing before you try it.
