Looks kind of like aiptasia to me. How big is it? Aiptasia is generally considered a pest because it can spread like a weed. Maybe another pic from the other side would help id it.

No, it's not Aiptasia he had 2 of them for a few months it's still on the small side and it don't spread like a pest. right now I have it in a .5 gallon Majano tank...I would like to move it to a main tank if it's ok.

I'll try to get another pic,

Do you see this any better?

If it's not aiptasia, then I'm not sure. Looks like it's some type of glass anemone, but perhaps someone else can id it for you.

You have a 5 gallon majano tank. That's different. They are kinda pretty little critters, aren't they?

sorry, that was .5 as in a half gallon lol

I like the majano's, when I made the tiny tank I had no idea what I was going to do with it then came the birth of the majano tank..

this other nem it strange, Ive never seen one like it, it almost looks like a Kenya tree/GBTA all in one...I'm going to try to take another shot closeup so you can see what I mean.

No it's 100% anemone, I just have no idea what kind It has the body of a BTA it even has a few bubble tips but it also has that tree thing going on...lol

That is a strange looking critter, have you tried feeding it a mysis or part of a silverside to see if it takes it?
If so, it's an anemone I would think. There is a thread up about a brutal stinging anemone, looks kid of like that.
Have you touched it by chance to see if it stings? Well, I guess they all do really.

lol. I was trying to id the anemone that was attached to the rock. Sorry. The frilly looking one is perhaps in the genus Actinodendron. Maybe you can google that and get more specific with the species.

Thanks Gary..I did a quick search and I think you just might be right :)
I can't find much information on it yet (for a laymen anyway lol) but I still have a lot of pages to go tho..when I find more info I'll post it here.

It's an odd little thing and it's kinda cool in it's own way, I can understand how you would look at the ones on the rock seems like everyone asks about pests..it would be nice if this guys a keeper, it might be happier in my main tank.

I almost did..but then I found more on it and it don't look like a good thing...I'll post something more as soon as I find something that sounds like they really know what they are talking about..
