I was in the Bay Area today and picked up a new anemone that looks some what like a bubble tip but its dark purple and the tips are smaller. Does anyone know what kind it is? - sorry about the pics my camera sucks

How large is it?
Just curious, because I saw some small 'nems (silver-dollar size) at a PetCo recently that looked similar except they were brownish instead of purple. They didn't look very healthy to me and there weren't any employees that knew what it was, so I wasn't about to buy one. If it was a mini-carpet though, I might re-think it.
Thanks,

Did these anemones have some yellow marbling on the foot? In the old days they called them purple mat anemones. I think they are actually small H. malu or H. crispa.

I didn't get a close enough look to tell. Now I'm gonna have to go back and check them out.![]()
I do know that one seemed to have its foot buried in the sand even though there were several pieces of LR in the tank.
