Hello, everyone. I currently have a trigger with some sort of ailment I have yet to be able to identify. My Indian Trigger, melichthys indicus, has several large white blotches on either side of him. He's had these blotches for several weeks now. They haven't disappeared since. I'm thinking it's some sort of protozoan/bacteria or something like that, as I've ruled out both ich, velvet, and fungal infections. So, I come here asking for your help. It hasn't spread to any other fish, his appetite is perfect, and his breathing is not labored at all. I'm at a loss. Thanks for the help!!:wavehand:

I don't know what's wrong with your Trigger, but I think you may be right by suspecting something bacterial. I guess an intestinal protozoa is also possible. I guess if I were you I would QT, and start treating with either antibiotics(bacterial) or Metronidazole(intestinal protozoa). It's whichever way you want to roll the dice. If he's had the blotches for several weeks now then odds are it isn't something that's going to just go away.

I've never seen such white patches, although it does seem benign based on lack of other symptoms. Possible lympho? Hope someone can chime in.
