I've been using a blue plastic kerosene container for about 5 years. I bought it new and the only thing that has ever been in it is filtered water.

Hi,

I have been using Plastic gas cans(new of course) for several years to store RO with no problems. Any type of plastic container should be OK for storing RO water or Kalc.

Same here I have used and still use several 5 gallon gas cans (plastic of course) for several years for water storage. But if you want to go " drinking water" safe, k mart or wallmart both carry them in the sporting goods departments

A while back I got a 7 gallon can with spigot from Walmart for about $15 I think. it looks just like this:
