Anyone know where to get Magnesium (bulk) in CA?

I'm in Huntington Beach and haven't been able to find anything like Mag Flake locally. I tried finding an internet source that'll sell to an individual, but haven't found anything.

It'll cost me about $100 in Warner Marine magnesium supplement to raise my 120g tank volume by 300 ppm, per the additive calculator.

Trying to find an alternative. Thanks.

I use Epsom Salts from the grocery store or the drug store. 300ppm is a substanitial amount to raise though and will take quite a bit and might push the chloride concentration high. Is this on ongoing problem? or do you think it will be a one-time fix. Water changes with normal Mg and chloride levels should keep this in check long term. I'd check my SW source. For maintenance you can add some Magnesium Granulate. Finsreef handles it. http://www.finsreef.com/product.php?productid=16209&cat=266&page=1
Eric at fragfarmer might have it as well.

I think it'll be a one-time fix as I do not do many water changes. I also think it may be depressed to to kalk use, which I no longer add.

From what I've read, magnesium should drop very slowly and shouldn't be a problem. If significan drops are seen short-term, it's usually from precipitation, which makes sense.

It had been ages since I last checked the level in my tank and it was at 960 which is not good. My sps haven't been growing well either which is why I checked everything. Calcium is at 420 and alkalinity at 8 dKH.

Those mag chips are very interesting. Would definitely like to add some of those to my CA reactor (Schuran).

Thanks a lot for the info/link.
