anyone local dosing baking soda?

Do you bake the bakeing soda?
how much do you dose?

i bake one pound per gallon of RO/DI.
bake at 300F for 1 hour to release the Co2, use a home mixer to blend.

joe2283, to lower Alk, you dont bake it.

jeff, bake one pound @300F for one hour, mix it with one gallon of warm RO/DI to raise your Alk.

mix one whole pound? does tank size matter?
Im downsize in a couple days to around 70g

I use Randy's 2 part, but I use his washing soda reference instead of baking soda. You dont have to bake the washing soda.

I just went thru the baking soda thing my self. I was just mixing straight baking soda to some tank water in a glass to dissolve it. It did raise my ph but sent my cal and akl. thru the roof. Used buffer ever since and every thingis almost back to normal. Remember that whatever ailment your tank has it did not get that way over nite and it wont be cured the next day. Takes time. But now I know that if I am to use baking soda in the future you have to bake it first. good luck.
