the little bit that I have isn't doing well, not growing much, but I only have a little bit, do you think if I had more it might do better?

No I don't... instead of having a little bit not doing well, you'll end up having more not doing well. You need to find out why what currently isn't doing well.

could it not be doing well because you have the wrong lighting? i know the stuff isnt picky but i read somewhere that it grows better under yellow lighting. i saw a guy who made a farm of that stuff with regular daylight CFL bulbs...i dont think it would benefit as much from any actinic or stuff like that.

i had it under a grow bulb, it doesn't get turned over much, I saw one person that had an air stone to keep it moving around, i wonder if that would help? when I say it's not doing well, it's growing slow and I think it has something else growing on it, I try to clean it off but the stuff grows back, is that normal?

I think some of the critters in the refugium might be nibbling on it too

OK... I don't tumble my chaeto... just manually turn it over and stir it up every couple days.

Hey whatever works for each person. Sounds like its growing very fast for you so you must be doing something right.

Chaeto like's nitrates phosphates and iorn and grows best under a 6500k bulb. I use a bulb from lowes Sylvania cfl 23w. I dont use a power head or tumble mine I just turn it once a week so the light gets to all of it. And I dose iorn and mine grows like a weed!
