Anyone order from marcorocks.com?

OK, this is the shipping cost for the total of 600 lbs from Marc:
Business no lift gate $335
Business w/ lift gate $385
Res w/ lift gate $404
Now, if we can have a business with a loading dock (so we do not need a liftgate) that we can send this base rock to and we pick it up there, we can save $69 more on the freight. LMK if you have a location in mind, if not, I will have them ship it to my house with that residential freight rate.
You now can calculate your freight portion by weighted average to get your approx. cost.

I'm not good at math in my head but is that approx 66 cents a pound for shipping?

Sorry I don't have a business to deliver it too... Too bad we couldn't deliver to my jobsite.. I could just forklift it off :) I don't think my foreman would be too happy though.. What is with this 600lbs of rock!!!! hahahha

Yes, approx. US$.67/lb based on the worst scenario, shipping it to residential. The diff is about $.11/lb.

OK,
For this group buy, Marc will give us a pricing of $2.25/lb.
Therefore the following will be your cost:
Orientalexpress 200 lbs --> $580.11 (rock: $450 + shipping: $130.11)
Scorpinok 50 lbs --> $145.03 ($112.50+$32.53)
Sid700 50 lbs --> $145.03 ($112.50+$32.53)
Fishnfst 25 lbs --> $72.51 ($56.25+$16.26)
Dswong 50 lbs --> 145.03 ($112.50+$32.53)
This number has been verified by Marc. Now he is checking if there is a hub station close enough for us to pick up, to save more freight. However, this is the number for residential delivery.
Please double check your quantity and confirm.
I will get the payment info from Marc and we can proceed.

I just picked ours up from the local UPS Freight hub (which was up in Sac, about an hour each way). Either way you are better off going the crate route, $$ aside, you increase your chances of getting the rocks in one piece (versus pieces). It was a wash to go either way when we ordered.. we went with the freight shipping to ensure safe arrival :).

Here is where the pictures of the rocks start in our tank thread :

I loved the WYSIWYG approach that Marc takes and the customer service was top notch. He even made a Home Depot run to get some fiberglass rods for us to use for connecting rocks together when building our aquascaping. They are cheap in his neck of the woods this time of year since they are used for marking driveways in the snow. :). If ever setting up another tank I would use Marc again in an instant.

Hi Tom,

Yes, we gonna do the crate thing for freight saving and also to keep the rock in one piece. Once you go over 300 lbs order, it will be cheaper to use crate and LTL shipping.
Marc is really a great guy to deal with .... I agree. I follow your thread and that is why I decided to go with Marco rock. Marc will also segregate each order within the crate. Great customer service.

I can't wait to see the rocks you get.. be sure to share some picutres :)
Tom, we got your left over ... :)
I will try to post pics, but I do not know how.

Anyway, Marc asked me if we want to pick the rocks in Hayward for a cheaper rate? Or it's not worth it? Your choice will be picking up at my place in Richmond or Hayward (for cheaper rate).
Please let me know. So far only 2 person confirm and 1 person with adjustment.

I'd defer to the majority. But I would prefer pickup at your place (Richmond). Also, I'm confirming the 25 lbs of tonga shelf. LMK how/when you want the payment.

Hello Roy I'm not sure if you ahve me as confirmed but I want the rock for sure... Just let m eknow

I can pick up either hayward or richmond.. Go with whatever is easiest for you..

Hehehe, well, we only got about half a dozen "main" rocks, then a couple smaller ones.. not sure if anyone with a sane sized tank would be interested in the rocks we got :D.

Heck, even the "left-overs" that we had thrown in to our order from Marc were awesome shapes and structure :) (We had already paid for shipping, so adding 50 - 100 pounds more rcok we ended up basically just paying for the rock.. I think it came out to $10 more shipping or something crazy like that, so it just made sense to order some "extra", normal sized rocks).. And don't fret too much.. we did pay a premium for the "cherry picked" sizes... but they were worth every last cent !!! :D

There are some changes that are made by 2 people and I just submit the updated spreadsheet to Marc yesterday for his review. Once he approve it, I will PM each of you with his paypal info and a number you can call in, if you want to give him your credit card number.
He told me that he can ship out as early as next week. The rocks will be ship to me, Richmond, CA, as it will be a nightmare to have it "will call" and all of us can not come at the same time.
So, almost there and pls look out your PM, hopefully today.

All,

After some changes from some of you, here are the final pricing. I will PM each of you for the payment info. Marc will ship early next week. He got a slightly cheaper shipping cost .... great guy to deal with.

Orientalexpress 200 lbs --> $825.60 (rock: $700 + shipping: $125.60)
Scorpinok 50 lbs --> $143.90 ($112.50+$31.40)
Sid700 25 lbs --> $71.95 ($56.25+$15.70)
Fishnfst 25 lbs --> $71.95 ($56.25+$15.70)
Dswong 75 lbs --> $215.85 ($168.75+$47.10)

This number has been verified by Marc. Please confirm here when you paypal or called him for your credit card number.
He will ship it to my house in Richmond, CA.

Thanks

I can't wait to see this set up :)
