Anyone QT with copper or other medication?

Ive been to a few lfs who keep copper in their qt at all times. They go straight to copper QT's whan they come in. Is this a normal practice? Does anyone here do that or use any other medications even though a fish shows no sign of being infected with something? Seems like about 90% of fish bring in something with them. Just look at "fish is sick of _____" threads.

My practice if copper is a safe med for the fish is to.....

Treat all new fish with fluke tabs. The ingredients are praziquantel and metronidazole. Every time I have done this a worm has pooped out of atleast one fish. Then they go into copper for 2 weeks. If it is a tang, they go into a clean QT after de-worming to watch for anything funky since they are not copper safe fish.
