Anyone re-seal tanks

I have. 75 gallon tank which I noticed a couple corners have some wear on them. I was wondering if anyone here is good at re-sealing tanks.

I would like to upgrade To a bigger size but would like to do that gradually and buy the tank and stand last unless I found a great deal. I would like to add a mp40 this spring but would like to re-seal the tank before I put more pressure on it.

I'm not sure if it is even anything to worry about. But I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to 75 gallons of water spilling in my home

Ok thanks. Only problem is its filled lol.. How long do you think it would take for it to be sealed then cured

Usually takes 24 hours for a cure

Maybe before I tear it down you could come check it out to see if it even needs it. If you wouldn't mind

if it isnt leaking i would leave it alone if you see water spots around the area tht is worn i would re seal it... a full cure takes 48 hrs

Ok yeah i will post a pic of what i am worried about. I plan on getting a mp40 so i dont want it to put more pressure on the seams. Also i was thinking about just buying a new tank and swapping them out so i wouldnt have to keep my livestock out of the tank for so long. I have a 3 year old and 2 cats. I dont feel too comfortable leaving them all in soltorage bins on the floor.

sorry its sideways. This is the worst of it that I can see. The back corners dont seem bad at all. I think its mostly from the algae scraper when i switch to the sides of tank.

Probably if you are using a scraper with a metal blade. It looks like the main part of the seal is intact. If it is making you nervous then I would go ahead and drop your water level and reseal over the original to beef it up that would take less time down and provide you with some peace of mine as well.

how did you make out re sealing the tank?

I actually am just leaving it how it is for now. I dont think its really a concern yet(hopefully). My daughter would always clean the glass i think she was peeling the edges off the silicone when doing so.

I was wondering about the vortech mp40's, do you think they would put a lot of stress on the seams? I dont plan to keep it on short pulse or anything just enough to move all my corals.

Mp will be fine I'd go 2 mp 10s tho for a 75

I was thinking that... but I would like to sometime in the future upgrade to a 6' tanks. I was going to buy the 40 now so I would only have to buy 1 more later down the road. I am trying to get everything little by little so when i upgrade all I have to do is buy the tank
