Anyone recharge DI resin?

HMM i have a water softener that i am going to be hooking up. For some reason I thought you wanted to use water pre softener. Not sure where I saw that but if it would help then I will hook it up post softener. To be honest I cant wait to get my softener on line because all my faucets have to be cleaned once a month or so. Tons of calcium in my water

You'll use more salt in your softener but the upside is that your membranes will last a long time, I think your carbon blocks last longer too but not sure on that one.

The softener outputs potassium I believe it is instead of calcium , magnesium and the like. Patassium is supposed to be easier to remove via ro. Been a long time. Forgive me if I screwed that up.

I know my TDS of my tap is 265 so TDS of 3 before DI is pretty damm close to 99%. I think I have some cheap DI since it is spent after 100g. I get it at a LFS and its cheap so thats prob it. Then again I used to run 2 DI and pulled one off line so it just seems like I am refilling it a lot.

I know of one LFS that buys their resin from a supplier who puts it out in the sun to dry. Sunlight and CO2 are the biggest killers of unused resin. I learned this after buying a big box from this distributer - when I called to complain about my resin being dried out, they proudly told me that they set it out to dry to save on shipping costs. :headwally: You may just be buying from that LFS. DI resin should be sealed up tight when you buy it.
