Anyone run their skimmer on a partial schedule?

Not sure if this the right forum but....
I have been thinking of running my skimmer only part of the time. I was thinking like 10 days on 10 days off. If I see a benefit I would eventually either pull it completely or run it only a few days per month. Anyone doing this? Thanks.

i see no reason. The skimmer gives your water oxygen and removes waiste before it turns into nitrates.

With what I remove from my tank every couple days I would never run without my skimmer. Unless it broke of course.

After seeing first hand what my skimmer pulls out in one day, I really do not like not to run my skimmer. Running the skimmer 24/7 has so many benifits and my tank is so much cleaner.

Why give waste products a chance to decay in your tank?
Get them out ASAP!
